Gooseberry jam

215 g

One day, we asked ourselves why gooseberry jam isn’t a bigger thing. It should be, if you ask us. So, we decided to create one so that everyone can taste its greatness. And so here it is, our gooseberry jam. It hits that perfect spot between sweet and sour, which makes it perfect on bread, buns or even as a side-compote for your roast.

An underrated berry with superior taste

Gooseberries may not be as popular as raspberries or blueberries, but we’re here to prove that they are just as good. They are a bit zingy and zesty to the taste in their natural state, but we’ve mixed them with sugar and a hint of vanilla for our jam to get a sweeter, softer taste. Spread it on a toast, use it in sweet cakes or with fatty meats and fish. Delicious!

How we make our gooseberry jam

Firstly, we carefully select the best gooseberries around – and we don’t hold back! One 215 g jar of jam contains over 100 g of fruit to give an authentic gooseberry taste. We then boil the gooseberries to ensure optimal taste and texture. The berry compote is mixed with sugar, water, lemon juice, a dash of Bourbon vanilla and pectin to give it the ideal consistency. Finally, we pour the juicy, tasty mixture into conveniently sized jars, ready for you to enjoy.

Enjoy an all-natural taste

All our marmalades, including this one, are produced in the EU ensuring high quality and safety of the products. The sugar acts as a natural preservative, which is why we’ve skipped artificial preservatives altogether for an all-natural taste. While this means that the shelf life after opening is cut shorter to 14 days (stored at 5 °C), the conveniently sized jars combined with superior taste means you’ll finish them well before that anyway. Before opening, the shelf life is 18 months from the production date.
